About the event
This FREE 4-hour training opportunity will include a discussion of the Commercial compliance paths and the impacts of these alternatives on the plan review and design of the building thermal envelope, a critical component in code compliant commercial construction projects. This session will include a more in-depth review of the role of Plan Review in ensuring consitent code compliant construction.will include review of the following training topics:
Commercial Compliance Paths
There are alternative pathways of compliance contained in the Energy Code that a designer can choose when designing a commercial project. Some alternatives offer more flexibility than others and allow builders to determine how to build the most cost effective, well performing, code compliant structure. Identifying which compliance is being used for a project will impact how building departments review, permit, and inspect each project? This course will review the compliance paths and their respective documentation and code review requirements
Thermal Envelope: Design and Plan Review Considerations
The Building Thermal Envelope is a critical component of project design that serves to provide thermal resistance and create a level of safety and separation between exterior environment and the interior conditioned spaces. This course will review the various materials and assemblies that provide this function; examine how these design consierations affect thermal resistance and occupant health and safety; and discuss how design and plan review expections impact installation and inspection to verify energy code compliance ensuring a safe and resilient structure.
